“Psychedelic Research in the 21st Century,” a special Research Topic in Frontiers in Pharmacology

Last year, Andrew Gallimore and I published a paper in Frontiers in Pharmacology, a high-impact journal, in which we propose a model, based on the anesthesiology literature, to extend the DMT state by using a continuous intravenous infusion. This article was one of the journal’s most highly viewed for all of 2016. As a result, the editors asked Andrew and me to co-edit a special issue of Frontiers dedicated to cutting edge psychedelic research. Ede Frecska of the University of Debrecen in Hungary is our third editor.

High-impact journals now require authors to pay for publishing costs and Frontiers is no exception. For young investigators and/or those affiliated with smaller institutions, such costs will prevent their contributing to this project. For example, $1000 is the lowest sliding fee Frontiers can provide (a 60% reduction in their normal fees).

Please join us in ensuring that no-one’s valuable contribution to this project remains unpublished due to financial constraints. Cottonwood Research Foundation is a 501(c)3 tax-deductible non-profit which can act as a fiscal sponsor for psychedelic research related matters, in this case providing support for these publication costs when no other support is available.
